Each year, the Alliance partners with more than visual and literary-arts organizations across the country to bring the Awards to local communities and the Arnot Art Museum has had the privilege to be a partner since The national Scholastic program has celebrated over 90 years as a unique presence in our nation's classrooms by identifying and documenting outstanding achievement of young artists and writers in the visual and literary arts.

Young artists in grades 7 through 12, from public, private, or home schools, can apply in 14 categories of art, ranging from drawing and painting to fashion and jewelry, for their chance to earn scholarships and have their works exhibited at the Museum.

Submissions are juried by notable professionals in the community involved in the visual and literary arts, some of whom are past award recipients. Panelists look for works that best exemplify originality, technical skill and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. These creative challenges and special awards offer additional opportunities for students and educators to be recognized for their creative, unique, and bold ideas.
